Through the generosity of donations made to the Jeffrey Scott Radio Community of Clayton fund, the family has been able to give back to the community just like Jeff would. Below are some examples of donations at work:
Clayton High School Scholarships – The Gloucester County Community Chorus along with students from the Delsea and Clayton high school choruses hosted their Spring Concert: Song of Democracy, based on Walt Whitman’s poem “An Old Man’s Thought of School” on May 7th, 2017. After accepting donations for this fund at the door, we raised a total of $1,000 which was given to two Clayton High School students who reflected similar characteristics as Jeff did, including community involvement and leadership skills. Congratulations to Ben Kellum and Francisa Shipe for being chosen to receive the scholarships!
Cedar Green Cemetery Light Project – Donations of funds ($2000) and many hours of labor were provided in order to install a light on the new American Flag. The flag was installed as part of the new Veterans Memorial. As a past board member of the Cedar Green Cemetery, Jeffrey envisioned a day where a flag would be flying with a light shining on it.
Clayton VFW – $2500 was donated to Clayton VFW for much needed building repairs in order to improve the infrastructure of the building.
